Taking kids hunting PDF Print E-mail

November 2007 was the first time my husband and I were able to take our two girls, Meagan (14) and Lindsay (12) hunting for the deer season.  The night before they set out all their clothes, dressed in full blaze orange to have some pictures taken.  Taking kids hunting is very interesting but exciting at the same time.  Lindsay slept through the first deer of the season and we did not get a shot.  Meagan sat poised and aimed carefully at one of the biggest bucks we had ever seen.  She took 4 shots with her dads Marlin .444 and did very well just to get the shots off.  She did great, unfortunately did not get the deer.  Later in the day we saw 11 more deer, they are all safe until next year.  The Ontario Hunter Education program for kids 12-18 is a fabulous way to introduce our kids to the hunting experience.  If you hunt, take your kids with you.
